The News of the Day
New Instruments
Peter
Slama Resophonic Guitar
This is a rosewood body squareneck made by Peter Slama, who
lived and built instruments for a while here in St. Louis.
He is now back in the Czech Republic where he continues to
build resophonics and mandolins. He established his name as
a maker when Jerry Douglas purchased one of his instruments.
Peter
Slama Mandolin
Here is one of Peter's F style mandolin. It features beautiful
flamed maple back and sides.
Lee Banjo
Chuck Lee's banjos are played by performers from Bob Carlin
to Bela Fleck. They feature clean construction and unusual
details such as woods and finishes. Our first arrival is the
Rose Hill. It features a maple shell and tone rim and scooped
rosewood fingerboard.
Hyalite Custom
Absaroka
These two Weber mandolins are oval soundhole models similar
to the old Gibson A models. There aren't many makers offering
good soundhole archtop mandolins. We think these are among
the best.
Huss &
Dalton Owens Mill model banjo - we had this on order for
a while. It features a JLS 20 hole tonering, maple construction
and the same clean workmanship that we've seen in their guitars
- not to mention a great sound.
Used Instruments
Some of the more interesting used instruments in our store:
A 1924 Gibson A mandolin, an old Dobson open back banjo with
a 10 3/4" pot, a Santa Cruz Vintage Artist guitar and
a 1957 Gibson L-48 archtop guitar. You can see them on our
used instrument page.
