Description

This is a fantastic sounding and playing mandolin! Made in The A-5L was introduced in early 1988. It was based on a 1923 Lloyd Loar signed A-5, but it has a slightly different body. Bozeman, Montana in 1992. The instrument has some good wear, the worst being a ding on the bass side by the tailpiece. Other than that, the body’s finish has weather checking, light scratches and a few worn spots. (These were photographed as best as possible, utilizing reflecting light to get things to show up.) The back of the headstock has some chips along the edge. The binding is discolored in the area where it would rest up against your thigh, if you were playing it while seated. The tailpiece cover has tarnish and areas where the gold plating has been rubbed off. The frets are in good condition, but the A and E strings do have divots on the 2nd and 3rd fret and wear up to around 5. (it’s playing fine, no buzzing or intonation issues.) A piece of leather was placed in between the pickguard foot and body. This instrument is in very good condition overall and comes with a hard case.
