Description
A nice Kay tenor banjo from the late 40’s to late 50’s. We gave the banjo a full set up and new strings (CGDA). This is one of the Kay instruments that have the curved neck shim, which makes changing the neck’s angle really easy, just loosen up the coordinator rod, reposition the neck and tighten the rod back up. The instrument looks all original too. The cool friction tuners have cracks, but they aren’t near the screw holes and the instrument hold tune well. The tailpiece is and coordinator rod are tarnished/pitted, other metal parts look really good. There is light wear throughout the instrument and a spot of thumb wear along the neck, but it is in very good condition overall.
