Description
The original Duolians were only produced from 1930 until 1939. Squareneck models, like this one, were available as a special order, starting in 1933. This guitar is from 1937 and features the walnut grain paint finish, which was introduced that same year. We repaired a broken headstock (There is a dark line across it’s face and what now looks like mere scratches elsewhere. One of our owners did the repair and touchup around it.) and put a new bone nut on it. Other than that, this is amazing condition, especially for it’s age. The painted walnut finish has wear and small dings, mostly around the edges. The finish also has checking in a few places. Most of this, not all, is in the photos. The headstock logo is lost to time. The tailpiece has some tarnish. The neck has a little relief (a straight edge between the first and ninteenth frets show 1/32″ if relief over the 9th fret) that doesn’t affect anything. The lowest string tuner is bent a little. The fingerboard has a grain split from around the 15th fret onward, that doesn’t affect anything. This guitar sounds fantastic! It is in very good condition. No case.
