Chris Norman Ensemble Concert — June 21, 2003
In junction with Classic 99, we sponsored Chris Norman’s newest venture, the Chris Norman Ensemble, for a concert on Saturday, June 21 at the Ethical Society. Chris and the band gave a great performance and won over many new fans to their unique blend of Scottish, Irish, French Canadian, classical, and jazz styles. Here are a few pictures from the event with a few more coming soon.
Pictured from left to right, James Blachly on bass, Chris Norman on flute, Simeon Darley-Chapin on percussion, and Andy Thurston on guitar.
Chris plays a variety of flutes and pipes, but used this one flute quite a bit. Their current CD focuses on selections from 17th and 18th Caledonian tunes and is available at Music Folk.
Another shot of the band.
