Description
Altamira has established a reputation as one of the most interesting brands for Gypsy Jazz guitars. Built in Asia under the direction of Hanson Yao, who trained at the renowned Rodriguez workshop in Spain, the instruments are played by both professional and passionate Gypsy Jazz guitarists around the world. The “M” stands for the initials of the legendary guitar maker Mario Maccaferri, who developed this type of guitar and built it in collaboration with the French manufacturer Selmer from 1932 to about 1952. Thanks to the solid arched spruce top and the solid mahogany back and sides, it is a beautiful instrument with great sound character. The mahogany gives the instrument a fantastic response, along with a very light and enjoyable playing touch. This is a lightly used instrument, with faint normal wear and one spot on the back where the finish is a little “cloudy.” It is in very good condition and comes with a hard case.
