Description
Here is a rather interesting acoustic bass. Interesting in that you can wear it around your neck or extend the endpin and play it as an upright. The harp guitar design adds stability to the neck as well as increasing the instrument’s sound box. Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes plays one. Troy Johnson brought this one here, and has a prototype for Stu Hamm he let us check out. This is a new instrument. The neck is an aftermarket Jazz Bass type neck, which is screwed to the body extension, which increases stability and adds to sustain/resonance. Brian set the bass up with low action. Any action adjustments would have to be at the bridge saddle. It has a K&K passive pickup in it. It comes with a 1/2 size (maybe it’s a 3/4) upright bass gig bag. If shipped, it will require us to make a custom box for it. Note, that this is also a BRAND NEW bass, not used.
