Description
This is a very early dulcimer made by David Lindsey of David’s Dulcimers. This one from 1979 has the serial number of…3. This dulcimer has a floating top, which allows the soundboard to vibrate more freely and has the old design with 4 strings for each note. (Most modern ones use 2 strings.) There look to be some old crack repairs, which are all solid and pose no issue. On the left pin block, there is discoloration. It looks like moisture and some dirt worked itself into the typical fine cracks around the pins and also around the edge of the block itself. Again, no issue, with no slipping tuning pins. After checking it all over, we cleaned it and tuned it up. It features an old timey tone and good volume. In good condition.
