Description
Bobby Caldwell was called “the Midwest Chet Atkins.” His association with Electra guitars generally refers to the Electra Model 2267, a semi-hollow “335-style” guitar he played and famously used to record his 1977 album, In The Spotlight. St. Louis Music (parent company of Electra) is known for many prototype guitars as well as custom one offs for company higher ups. As a result, there are guitars like that that show up here every now and then. This is one of those! We have a friend that worked at SLM back in those days. He said this was never put into production and is either a prototype or this was made for Bobby himself. We cleaned the electronics and gave the guitar a set up and new strings. It’s a really nice jazz guitar that plays easily and sounds great! The binding has aged over time and is discolored. The gold plated parts have lost some of the gold plating. The pickguard has fine cracks starting. Overall, this guitar is in very good condition and comes with a hard case. Cool, and very rare!
