Description

Here is an awesome guitar, the Gretsch 6117 Double Anniversary. This one hails from 1963 and was made in Brooklyn, NY. For a vintage Gretsch, the binding is in amazing condition, with really only the neck heel cap shrunk (possibly replaced) and one spot in the cut away that is sort of deteriorated a tad. There is some finish checking, mostly towards the guitar’s bottom and a few spots also by the bottom, top, back and sides, where a bit of the top coat has flaked off. Other than that, the body has light, scratches, etc., but not a lot. The sides of the back of the neck’s finish has been wore thru and there are a couple of finish chips. The nut has been replaced with a brass one. The fingerboard in the first fret area by the nut is scratched up some, the rest of the fingerboard and it’s frets are fine. Electronics all work as they should. The guitar plays easily with a fine setup and sounds really nice. It has a funky Gretsch palm tremolo, that easily mounts on the strings behind the bridge, with 2 thumbscrews. This very collectable guitar is in very good condition and comes with it’s original hard case.
