Description

Here is a really great parlor guitar from the late 19th century/early 20th century. Harwood guitars are somewhat of a mystery, with some information in a 2023 edition of Fretboard Journal. They, despite having a New York Stamp, were mostly made in Kansas City, Mo. The earliest ones, however, were made in Boston, by John C. Haynes. Since this has a serial number stamped on the headstock, it’ more likely Kansas City made. Regardless, this spruce and Brazilian rosewood beauty plays and sounds fantastic! The guitar is also in amazing condition, considering it’s 125 some odd years old. There are a few repaired top cracks from the bridge to the bottom of the guitar, the back of the deep v neck has some impressions-that you really don’t feel playing, glue has been worked into a split on the bridge by the pins, other than that, it’s really just normal wear, light impressions, dings, scratches but nothing that will show up in photos. The original strap button is missing from the headstock. This instrument is in very good condition and comes with a hard case.
