Description
A seriously great guitar! It is unmarked, but we have a pretty good feeling that it was made by Lyon and Healy, but we can’t say for certain. The only marking on it is a large serial number stamped onto the neck’s block (see photo). We have been messaged that it could be a Washburn/Lyon Healy 5238 from the 1920’s, with some different features. Not a parlor, more of a 00 body shape. From somewhere near the turn of the last century. We did some repairs to it, reset the neck, reglued the bridge, repaired a crack (other cracks were previously repaired) and glued some open seams. The guitar has light thumb wear to the finish of the back of the neck. There is some very slight wear to the fingerboard, in the first position, frets are in good shape. The deep V neck itself has some slight radius and is very playable. The laminate sides have some cracks in the outer layers, but don’t go thru. The guitar is X braced, not ladder braced. The guitar plays and sounds fantastic! Really, nice! The guitar is in very good condition. No case. If shipped, will be packed securely.
