Description
This is a seriously great viola! We believe that it is of German origin, but don’t know when. There is a deteriorated handwritten paper label in it. Unfortunately, it’s unreadable. The voice of this is just lovely. Creamy rich lows, sweet glassy highs and powerful projection. There is normal, light wear to it, in the form of tiny dings and scratches. There is a repaired crack that runs from the bass side f-hole to under the chin rest. It won’t show in photos. On the side by the chinrest, there is a spot where the top edge looks repaired. The neck heel button has been repaired and reinforced. This instrument is in very good condition overall and it comes with a hard case.
- 15 1/2″ viola (most likely German in origin)
- Solid spruce top
- Solid flame maple back and ribs
- Hard case
