Description
This is a great sounding violin. From the first bow stroke, you can tell this is a good one. It has no maker’s label or marks, so we can’t list unknown details about it. We believe it to be German made. It does have a repair label inside from C. E. Osborne, from Rockford, Illinois, with a date of 1927 on it, so it was made earlier than that date. As for the repairs…we really don’t know what was done. There doesn’t appear to be any cracks on this. It does look like the seams were worked on, but that’s all we see. We set it up and put a new bridge Teller bridge on it. A huge voice and great tone is produced by this instrument. It has normal wear, including scratches, dings, and finish checking most of which have a great patina to them. Overall, this is a very pleasing violin to the eyes, with lovely flamed maple back, sides and neck This violin is in very good used condition and comes with a hard case. You’ll like this one!
