First things first. This banjo was NOT made by Gibson. What you are looking at a banjo made of various nice parts and fitted with a handmade neck. The neck’s faceplate looks like a Gibson and it says Mastertone in the last inlay, but again, this is NOT a Gibson product. What this banjo is, is a nice playing and sounding banjo assembeled with various parts. The resonator has been modified on the inside to work with everything. The flange has been cut where the bolts to attach the resonator go through. Also, those bolts now use large washers, so they don’t go thru the flange. There is a little fret wear in the first position, but it’s a long ways from needing attention. A Shubb sliding 5th string capo is installed. We Made sure everything checked out, restrung her and did some light setup to her. This banjo plays easily and sounds really good! This instrument is in very good condition and comes with a hard shell case.
