Songwriter Night 2 — May 15, 2004

As part of a continuing series, Music Folk is hosting local and regional songwriters for quarterly concerts. Songwriter Night 2 featured Bob Hemmer, Jan Marra, and Kip Loui. Here are a few photos from what was a fun evening.
Bob Hemmer and Jan Marra decided to perform one of Bob’s tunes together, so they showed up early to practice.
Bob Hemmer, formerly of Lone Oak, was first in line for the evening. He played a great set of country-flavored songs with sometimes amusing insight into everyday life.
Jan Marra was up next. Her spirited set included selections from her first release as well as more recent tunes. Jan was in GREAT voice.
One of the cool things about the evening is the measured pace. There’s an intermission between each set that gives the performers and audience a chance to talk and get acquainted.
Kip’s performance was a rare solo date. Kip usually performs in a band setting, so it was a real treat to hear his songs so stripped down and intimate. As per usual, Kip’s songs were outstanding.
A post-show pic of Bob, Kip, and Jan.
